Taking over an existing network often involves numerous complexities. We were approached by a CPO who had taken over a concession of 1,600 installed charge points. We fully supported this client throughout the migration process, from planning to completion.
To enable the management of these 1,600 chargers, we migrated them to the client’s backoffice. This involved replacing the SIM cards, adjusting the configuration, and updating the firmware to the requested version for all chargers. After each migration, we conducted test sessions with power consumption to ensure the migration is successful.
An important part of the migration process was updating the branding on the charging stations. We removed the old stickers and applied new ones. This ensures that customers can charge using a functional QR code, that the logo was displayed correctly, and that the customer service contact details were up to date.
In collaboration with the client, we developed a digital work form to streamline the project. This form was used to document the tasks performed and conduct additional checks on the condition of the chargers. Multiple photos were added for each charger to provide a snapshot of the condition of the network. The form also generated automatic notifications for any issues detected, allowing them to be addressed immediately. Moreover, the client had real-time visibility into the project’s progress via this smart system, keeping them informed about the status and any potential bottlenecks at all times.
To complete the migration within the agreed timelines, we scaled up our team and optimized our processes. This allowed us to migrate hundreds of charging stations per week. Thanks to this efficient approach, the project was completed on time and within budget.
